Pooled Liability Program

Providing General Liability, Auto Liability, and Errors & Omissions coverage in excess of a member city’s retained limit, or Self-Insured Rentention (SIR), up to $1,000,000 per occurrence.

Auto Physical Damage Program

A risk-sharing APD pool that provides coverage for comprehensive and collision damages that exceed $1,000 up to the $25,000 Alliant Property Insurance Program (APIP) deductible.

Workers' Compensation

Coverage for members in excess of their retained limit, up to $1,000,000 per occurrence. Each member retains a portion of every loss that falls within their SIR, ranging from $150,000 to $500,000.

Structured Return to Work

The Structured Return-to-Work Program is a component of the Workers’ Compensation Program, functioning as a loss control tool.

Pooled Property Program

The risk sharing All-Risk Property Program covers the member's buildings, building contents, and vehicles parked on the city premises.

Employment Practices Liability

BCJPIA obtains coverage through Employment Risk Management Authority (ERMA) for coverage up to $1,000,000 per occurrence featuring tailored loss prevention services.

Safety and Loss Prevention Program

The BCJPIA Risk Control Program provides occupational safety and health and risk control consulting services.

Employee Fidelity Bond

BCJPIA obtains, on a group-purchased basis, up to $1,000,000 primary coverage and up to $2,000,000 in excess commercial crime coverage.

Marina Operator's Liability

BCJPIA obtains, on a group purchased basis, primary and excess Marina Operators Legal Liability, Protection & Indemnity, and Hull & Machinery insurance.

Earthquake & Flood

This is a pass-through program through Alliant Property Insurance Program whereby members can obtain insurance using group rates without having to share its risks with the other entities of APIP.

Our History

BCJPIA was created in 1986 to develop effective risk management programs to reduce the amount and frequency of losses; to share the risk of self-insured losses; and to jointly purchase and provide administrative and other services including, but not limited to claims adjusting, data processing, risk management, loss prevention, accounting services, actuarial services, and legal services in connection with the program.
